The main principles of SMS exercises

The SMS exercises combine 3 important components:

  • movement - optimal coordination of movement
  • muscle apparatus - muscle chain formation in the shape of descending spirals - spiral stabilization
  • spinal response - centralization - allignment into the vertical axis

- traction - stretching upwards - the whole spine - in the segment - elevation of the intervertebral disc and expansion of the intervertebral joints

The main cause of back pain - vertical stabilization of movement

The main cause of back pain is increased muscle tension in vertical chains - increased tension in back muscles compresses the vetebrae against each other and creates pain.

Spiral stabilization of movement - spiral muscle chains pull the vertebrae away from each other, stretch the spine upwards and relieve the pain
